- Nearest airport Pantnagar (PGH) is far; the practical base is Dharchula.
- Nearest railway station Kathgodam (~300 km) or Tanakpur; a long road beyond.
- Bus & road hub Buses to Dharchula, then shared jeeps up the valley.
- Taxis & local transport Shared/private jeeps from Dharchula (Inner Line Permit needed).
- Road access & best route Via Dharchula-Sobla-Dar; a border valley needing an ILP, closed in winter.
Things to do & travel tips
- An Inner Line Permit is required - arrange it at Dharchula with ID and photos.
- Open in summer only; the high valley shuts in winter.
- Very remote - carry cash, fuel and supplies.
- Acclimatise gradually; the valley climbs high.
