About this trek

Brahmatal is one of Uttarakhand’s finest winter treks, named for a glacial lake where Lord Brahma is said to have meditated. The trail climbs through ancient oak and rhododendron forest to open snow ridges at about 3,800 m.

From the Brahmatal summit you get jaw-dropping views of Mount Trishul and Nanda Ghunti towering over the frozen lake. Done over 5–6 days from Lohajung, it is a moderate trek that rewards winter trekkers with deep snow and clear Himalayan panoramas.
