About this trek

The Prashar Lake trek leads to a serene high-altitude lake at about 2,730 m, cradled in the Dhauladhar foothills near Mandi. Beside it stands a striking three-tiered pagoda-style temple dedicated to the sage Parashar, and the lake itself is famous for a small floating island whose position is said to shift.

It is one of the most accessible Himalayan treks β€” a gentle 6–7 km walk from Baggi village through oak and meadow β€” making it ideal for beginners and a brilliant winter snow trek. Camp by the lake for unobstructed views of the snow-clad Dhauladhar and Pir Panjal ranges.
