DIY route options

Sankri base (standard) Drive Dehradun-Sankri, then the 4-day summit loop via Juda ka Talab. The classic line.
Snow vs meadows December to March for the famous snow summit; April to June for green meadows and clear views.

What most travellers miss

  • Use the acclimatisation hour at Juda ka Talab - it is the prettiest camp on the trek.
  • Summit day starts pre-dawn; it is cold, but the sunrise from the top is the whole point.
  • Sankri has gear rental - you do not need to buy snow boots and gaiters.

Sankri Trailhead village - guesthouses, gear rental and the last mobile network.
Juda ka Talab (camp) First night by a frozen lake; the best scenery on the route.
