How to reach

Two road approaches: the gentler Shimla–Kinnaur route (best for acclimatisation) and the higher Manali–Kunzum La route (open only in summer). Nearest airport: Bhuntar (Kullu). Nearest railheads: Shimla and Chandigarh.

Things to do & travel tips

  • Enter via Shimla and exit via Manali to acclimatise safely.
  • Carry cash and fuel up at Kaza.
  • Check Kunzum La / Chandratal road status before committing to that leg.
