How to reach

Dhankar is a short detour off the Tabo–Kaza road; a link road climbs to the village. Nearest hubs: Tabo (~30 km) and Kaza (~30 km).

Things to do & travel tips

  • Allow 1–1.5 hours each way for the Dhankar Lake hike; carry water.
  • Tread lightly inside the old monastery.
